Use this code when documenting a delivery involving multiple gestations where some, but not all, of the fetuses were liveborn. This includes scenarios such as a twin delivery with one liveborn and one stillborn infant, or a triplet delivery with two liveborn and one stillborn infant.

• Always sequence this code after the appropriate code from category O80-O84 (Encounter for delivery).
• Ensure documentation clearly specifies the number of fetuses and the outcome (liveborn vs. stillborn/fetal death) for each.
• Do not use this code if all fetuses were liveborn (use Z37.2, Z37.3, etc.) or if all fetuses were stillborn (use Z37.1).
