Onychogryphosis

This code describes a condition characterized by abnormal thickening, hardening, and curvature of the nail, often resembling a ram's horn. It typically affects the toenails, particularly the great toe, and can cause significant pain and difficulty with ambulation. The nail becomes opaque, discolored, and can grow to an extreme length and thickness.

Use this code when documentation clearly indicates a diagnosis of onychogryphosis. Supporting documentation should describe the characteristic hypertrophy, discoloration, and curvature of the affected nail(s).
