Use this code when documenting a patient presenting for treatment of a chronic condition, disability, or complication that is a direct result of a past fall from stairs or steps. This applies when the acute injury has resolved, but the sequelae persist, such as chronic pain, limited mobility, or nerve damage from a fracture sustained in the fall.
