Juvenile general paresis

It results from congenital syphilis, where the spirochete Treponema pallidum infects the central nervous system, leading to dementia, personality changes, and motor deficits.

Use this code for documented cases of juvenile general paresis, a late manifestation of congenital syphilis. Clinical documentation should clearly indicate progressive cognitive decline, psychiatric symptoms, and/or neurological signs consistent with neurosyphilis in a pediatric patient. Confirmation of congenital syphilis, often through serological tests or CSF analysis, supports its use.
