Use this code when documentation clearly links arthropathy to a specific, non-joint-related systemic disease, such as inflammatory bowel disease, psoriasis, or sarcoidosis. The underlying condition must be separately identifiable and classifiable elsewhere. This code is appropriate when the joint symptoms are a recognized complication or feature of the primary disease.

• Always sequence the underlying systemic condition first, as this code is always secondary.
