Use this code when documentation explicitly states fatigue is related to a malignant neoplasm or its treatment (e.g., chemotherapy, radiation). This diagnosis is appropriate for patients actively undergoing cancer treatment or those in remission who continue to experience fatigue attributed to their cancer history.

• Always sequence the underlying malignant neoplasm code first, followed by this code.
• Distinguish from general fatigue (R53.83) or chronic fatigue syndrome (G93.3), which are not cancer-related.
