Torticollis

This code represents an acquired, non-congenital form of torticollis, characterized by an involuntary, sustained contraction of neck muscles, leading to an abnormal head posture. The head is typically tilted to one side with the chin rotated to the opposite side. It is often painful and can limit range of motion.

Use this code for adult patients presenting with new onset or worsening torticollis that is not congenital, psychogenic, spasmodic, or related to a recent injury or birth trauma. Documentation should clearly indicate an acquired etiology and rule out other specific forms of torticollis.
