This code describes various deviations from the typical size and shape of teeth, encompassing conditions like microdontia (abnormally small teeth), macrodontia (abnormally large teeth), and other structural anomalies. These abnormalities can affect a single tooth, multiple teeth, or the entire dentition, impacting aesthetics, occlusion, and oral function.

Use this code when documentation specifies a tooth or teeth exhibiting unusual dimensions or morphology. This includes conditions such as peg laterals, gemination, fusion, or shovel-shaped incisors. Supporting documentation would typically come from dental examinations, radiographs, or specialist consultations.

• Differentiate from developmental disturbances of teeth (K00.0-K00.1) which refer to number and eruption, not size/form.
• Ensure the documentation clearly specifies an abnormality of size or form, rather than a normal anatomical variation.
• Do not use for abnormalities secondary to congenital syphilis (A50.5), as this has a specific exclusion.
