• Always review "Excludes2" notes to avoid miscoding conditions like acute pulmonary insufficiency following thoracic surgery (J95.1) or postprocedural subglottic stenosis (J95.5).
• Sequence this code as a secondary diagnosis when the primary reason for the encounter is the management of the postprocedural complication.
